Bo Diddley died within the last few years and I feel that he did not get as much recognition as he deserved for his contributions to music. As I examined the 1958 album’s track listing, I was awestruck. 8/12 songs appear on the compilation I ordered through BMG and are easily my favourites of Bo Diddley’s 1950s output. This put into context for me just how powerful the Diddley debut album was.
When I came to the realization of how hot that album is, I was compelled to blog about it. I’m not sure if I’m being used as a conduit by forces unknown but. What I am sure of is that Bo Diddley’s debut album is one of the most important albums in the history of rock & roll music.
I’m contemplating owning the vinyl but I’m scared to know how much it would cost. Considering its magnitude, I would probably frame it if I owned one.
I may have been channelled to write this but what I hope is that a copy of that album crosses my path sooner than later.
