Best Singles of 2014

2014 is about to end and I look forward to the new year.

Throughout the year I made notes along the way to make this process a bit easier on myself.

The exposure to Top 40 music is obvious.

Below are the songs that managed to register with me and make up my 2014 playlist.

Sam Smith's Stay With Me & Not The Only One in addition to his appearance on Disclosure's Latch reveals his mark on my 2014 listening.

I really enjoyed Pompeii by Bastille.

The first of the 2014 Canadian music selections to make the list.

I otherwise may not pay any attention to Ed Sheeran but Pharrell's involvement forced my hand and ears.

The second 2014 Canadian single and my favorite Canadian song of the year.

I did not follow John Legend's music after his first album but this song made me remember why I liked him in the first place.

Seoul's Stay With Us is the 3rd Canadian single and a surprise entry onto this list.

The soulful spirit and tribute of the 4th Canadian song did not go unnoticed.

At some point this summer, I asked myself if I was wrong to like the Nico & Vinz as much as I did.

I like a little Calvin Harris from time to time. Blame feat. John Newman squeezes its way onto this year's list.

Pharrell had 2 songs in my Best of List 2013.  He does it again this year.

Warsaw Afrobeat Orchestra – Only Now (Bosq Remix) was a pleasant surprise to discover.

I not too long ago remembered that I liked the original Celestial Blues.
I didn't forget to add The Souljazz Orchestra version to this list.
